FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Mint Hill Businessman to Run for NC House; Vows to “Get Things Done” Contact: Larry Hale Phone: 704-847-4500 Email: larryhaleinsurance@alltel.net Website: www.larryhalenchouse.com Matthews, NC, (date): Larry Hale, owner of the Larry Hale Insurance Agency in Matthews, has seen enough. “For six terms now, Matthews and Mint Hill residents comprising the 103rd House District have had little or no representation in Raleigh of any substance from the incumbent (Jim Gulley),” Hale says. “I think it’s time someone stood up to the status quo…where little if anything has been accomplished in our behalf.” Hale, running for the district’s Republican seat in the NC General Assembly, wants to go one step further. “I’d like to challenge Mr. Gulley to a debate. Believe me, there are plenty of issues to put out there for the voters to consider. It’s time to get things done!” Hale has a laundry list of items that, in his estimation, have been given short shrift by Gulley. He plans to focus on such matters as the district’s aging roads; maintaining a curb on NC taxes and wasteful legislative spending while promoting appropriate compensation for teachers; supporting local police and firefighters along with more attentive representation for the citizens of Matthews and Mint Hill that comprise the district. Hale further points out that, in the current independent rankings of House legislator effectiveness, Gulley has received the lowest numbers among non-freshmen lawmakers. Already, Hale has picked up the endorsement of the North Carolina Association of Educators. Larry Hale has been in business for over forty years and “a proud Republican for 35 years.” He has spent nearly twenty-five years at the helm of the Larry Hale Insurance agency representing top national carriers in covering policyholders for all their property, casualty and life insurance needs. A Mint Hill resident since 1973, Hale is a member of Mint Hill Masonic Lodge #742, and a congregant of the Blair Road Methodist Church. He is a Charter Board member of the Mint Hill Athletic Association, having coached youth baseball, football and basketball. Hale served four years in the US Air Force, with an Honorable Discharge. He has been married to wife Judy for 48 years and proudly talks up his three sons and three grandsons. “I’m all about accountability,” Hale says. “It’s time we actually had some up in Raleigh.” ### |
